Today the domestic companies selling straw biofuel are forced to develop the domestic market feverishly. Maybe it is to the good as it would be better for Ukraine with its constantly increasing prices for gas to accelerate the shift to alternative energy sources. However, it's not all that simple. According to the producers of straw fuel, Ukrainians wish to buy their production, but just desire appears to be not enough.

The database is prepared on the basis of straw pellet sale proposals received on Ukrainian Biofuel Portal (UBP) from 2009 to 2013 (I-III quarters). Before releasing the database the specialists of UBP interviewed all registered straw pellet producers and suppliers regarding the relevance of their proposals, the availability and cost of the production. The prepared information resource contains the data
about the companies from such Ukrainian regions as Kievskaya,
Vinnitskaya, Donetskaya, Dnepropetrovskaya, Cherkasskaya, Odesskaya,
Poltavskaya, Zaporozhskaya, Sumskaya, Ivano-Frankovskaya, Kharkovskaya,
Khmelnitskaya, Kirovogradskaya and the Crimea.

The prices of fuel granules in the EU break records
Today the cost of fuel pellets in Austria is 195 euro per ton (net), it is 14% more compared to 2012. As for Germany, the price of pellets in the country increased by 19% and reached 191 euro per ton.

In 2013 the record number of green certificates were issued in Poland
Polish Energy Regulatory Authority (ERA) reported that as of September 11, 2013 about 12,000 (11,854) certificates about the origin of energy from renewable energy sources including biomass were issued.
